DISTRIBUTION: W, NE, and extreme SE Madagascar.
STATUS: CITES - Appendix I; U.S. ESA - Endangered; IUCN - Rare.
SYNONYMS: electromontis , pallescens , parienti .
COMMENTS: May consist of more than one species, see Groves and Tattersall (1991).
