TYPE LOCALITY: Equador, Rio Napo .
DISTRIBUTION: East of Rio Curaray, Brazil-Colombia border; sympatric with S. fuscicollis around Curaray-Napo Confluence.
STATUS: CITES - Appendix II.
COMMENTS: Given specific rank by Thorington (1988) on the evidence of marginal sympatry with S. fuscicollis .
