Distribution and habitat. Enyalioides laticeps is endemic to western Amazonia, reaching eastward the Roosevelt River on the south of Amazon River, and the lower Japurá River on the north of Amazon River, occurring in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ). In Brazil, it is known from the states of Amazonas, Acre, and Rondônia. Enyalioides laticeps is arboreal and diurnal, inhabits primary and (occasionally) secondary forests and varzea, where it is found mainly on trunks of small trees or palms at 1–2 meters above ground, but also on branches and palm fronds, on rooting stumps, and on the ground ( Duellman 1973; 1978; Dixon & Soini 1986; Ávila-Pires 1995; Duellman & Mendelson 1995; Torres-Carvajal et al. 2011; Whitworth & Beirne 2011).
