Diagnosis
Genitalic structures characteristic of G. orautahi sp. nov. are the gonostylus, which is massive apically and strongly bent at the midlength (↓ 1, Fig. 10C View Fig ); the tegminal processes, which consist of a strongly sclerotized, tuberculous portion posteriorly and a weakly sclerotized, spiny portion laterally (↓ 2, Fig. 10D View Fig ); and the posteromedial protuberance, whose pointed, sclerotized process projects ventrally (↓ 3, Fig. 10B View Fig ).
Etymology
The specific epithet, orautahi , is the Maori name for Smoky Beach, the place on Stewart Island where the holotype was collected.
