Semivermilia pomatostegoides View in CoL .— Bailey-Brock, 1987: 425, Hawaii.

Diagnosis. Tube white, smooth, with three longitudinal ridges, lacks crests, peristomes or alveoli. Opercular peduncle smooth, white. Operculum with fleshy, bulbous part and distal cap forming several (4–6) discoidal plates, jointed by central column ( Fig. 10K). Thoracic membrane short, extends to second thoracic chaetiger. Collar with hooded (limbate) chaetae, with bundles of few chaetae. Thorax with “ Apomatus ” chaetae. Thoracic uncini saw- to rasp-shaped, with gouged anterior tooth.

Habitat. Depth: Sublittoral 15–20 m ( Bailey-Brock 1987); originally recorded to 140 m ( Zibrowius 1969). On coral rubble and calcareous algae.

Distribution. Eastern Atlantic. Mediterranean Sea, Azores Islands ( Zibrowius 1969). Indo-Pacific (ten Hove unpubl.).
