Type Locality: South Africa, Mpumalanga, Wakkerstroom.
Vernacular Names: Highveld Golden Mole.
Distribution: Helibron and Parys (NE Free State) to Wakkerstroom and Ermelo (Mpumalanga, South Africa); possibly also Swaziland.
Discussion: Separated from hottentotus by Bronner (1995 b, 1996, 2000).
