Paratendipes Kieffer, 1911 View in CoL
Paratendipes albimanus (Meigen, 1818) View in CoL is the only species of Paratendipes View in CoL known from Alaska and is a new faunistic record for the state. We collected an adult male from the Yukon River delta, pupae and larvae of this species from Lake Kathleen on Admiralty Island in early August, larvae from Klakas and Summit Lakes on Prince of Wales Island, and a larva from the East Fork of the Moose River on the Kenai Peninsula. Bowser et al. (2020) found an unknown larvae of Paratendipes View in CoL from the Miller Creek watershed on the Kenai Peninsula. P. albimanus View in CoL is widely distributed in the Holarctic, inhabiting a wide variety of freshwaters, including pools, ponds, lakes, upland, and lowland rivers ( Tokeshi 1995).
