Einfeldia pagana (Meigen 1838) View in CoL is the only named species in Alaska. We found adults near Twin Lakes in Juneau in mid-July, a new faunistic record for Alaska. Martin (2023) lists Einfeldia sp. 2 Y from Harding Lake southeast of Fairbanks based on larval cytology. In the Southeastern United States, the larvae are typically found in slightly enriched standing and running waters ( Hudson et al. 1990). E. pagana View in CoL larvae are known to produce overwintering cocoons ( Danks 1971).
