Subfamily Prodiamesinae View in CoL
This small subfamily contains only four genera of which three occur in Alaska. The other genus, Compteromesa Saether, 1981 , has only been found in South Carolina. We confirm the presence of 5 species of this subfamily in
Alaska, with most collections occurring in the Southeastern bioregion. Larvae are typically found in various habitats such as springs, streams and rivers, ponds, and the littoral zone of lakes ( Epler 2001).
