Type depository. A. lativentris and A. americanus : Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, Berlin, Germany.
Type locality and habitat. A. lativentris : Brazil, Cabreuva, São Paulo state, 5 July 1970, in Turdus sp. [ Aves: Turdidae ] nest; A. americanus : Paraguay, Villa Hayes, along the “Canatera Transchaco”, 1966, in soil a marshy forest.
Note. Halliday et al. (1998: 46) considered Neojordensia lativentris Karg to be a junior synonym of Africoseius areolatus Krantz. However, Rueda-Ramírez et al. (2019: 2390) did not accept that synonymy, a decision also adopted in this publication.
