Distribution.

Rwanda to S Tropical Africa.

Habitat and ecology.

Brachystegia miombo woodland, dry evergreen forest, steppic savannah, often on rocky outcrops or gravelly soil, occasionally on copper-rich soil; 1250–1400 m elev.
