The fore wing vein 2RS is very close to vein 2M (Fig. 11C View Figure 11 ), giving the impression that a small areolet (= second submarginal cell) is present; although the posterior end of that supposed areolet (which would correspond to veins r-m and/or 3RS) is not defined. This feature (of having an almost completely defined areolet) is unique among all species of Alphomelon that we studied.
