Type material. CHINA, Guangxi: Holotype ♁, Mt. Daming, Nanning , 1200 m, 8.VIII.2011, leg. SL Hao & YH Sun, slide No. ZXJ20437 . Paratypes: 2♁, 5‒7.VIII.2011, other same data as holotype, slide No. MYH11114 ; Yunnan: 1♁, Mt. Dawei , Pingbian County, 2067 m, 7.VIII. 2019, leg. KJ Teng et al., slide No. ZXJ20467 .
Diagnosis. The new species is similar to A. chiangmaiensis Saito, 1987 in male genitalia. It can be distinguished by the forewing with fine greyish brown stripes, with black spot at middle, at basal 3/4 and at outer margin of the cell respectively; and by the sub-triangular socii and the juxta with a small triangular notch on the posterior margin in the male genitalia. In A. chiangmaiensis , the forewing has numerous yellow or white transverse lines, the cell has a black spot before distal 1/3 and at outer margin respectively; the socii are digitate and the juxta is nearly straight on the posterior margin based on our study. It is similar to A. magnimacularis sp. nov., and the differences between them are stated in the diagnosis of the latter species.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1‒8 ). Wingspan 23.0‒24.0 mm.
Head black, vertex yellowish white, with erect black scale tufts posteriorly, mixed with yellowish white scales. Labial palpus with basal segment black on outside, yellowish white on inside; second segment yellowish white except black on outside of basal half and on dorsal side of apex, without protruding scales; third segment yellowish white speckled with black. Antenna with scape pale yellow mixed with black; flagellum pale yellow except dark brown alternated with pale yellow in basal 2/3 on dorsal surface.
Mesonotum and tegula black, mesonotum with yellow streak anterolaterally. Foreleg with coxa black, tibia greyish brown, tarsus greyish brown at middle of basal one tarsomere, rest of tarsomeres black except yellowish white at apices; midleg with tibia black except yellowish white at middle and at apex respectively, tarsus black, yellowish white at base of basal tarsomere and at apex of each tarsomere; hindleg with tibia yellowish white, speckled with greyish brown dorsally, tarsus yellowish white, greyish brown on outside except yellowish white at apex of each tarsomere; all femora yellowish white mixed with black.
Forewing yellowish brown, except beige brown on anterior 1/4 from near base to before apex, with fine greyish brown stripes all over the wing surface, denser in distal 1/4; costal margin black, with several yellow dots; large black fascia at base, narrowed from costal margin to dorsum; cell with black spot at middle and at basal 3/4, surrounded by yellowish white scales, with a larger black spot on outer margin, edged with greyish white on inner side; terminal spots black, running from below apex along termen to before tornus; fringe grey, darker near base. Hindwing and fringe grey except region below basal 2/3 of costal margin white.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 24‒29 ). Uncus reduced. Socii sub-triangular, setose. Gnathos rounded, finely spined. Valva wide at base, gradually narrowed to basal 2/3, distinctly narrowed from distal 1/3 to rounded apex, with long setae anteriorly and distally. Transtilla membranous; transtilla lobes membranous, hairy. Sacculus approximately reaching 2/3 length of valva; cuiller widened distally, reaching anterior 1/3 from costa. Juxta with posterior margin projected as an obtusely angled triangle toward transtilla, in its middle with a small triangular notch which is filled with heart-shaped hairy membrane, anterior margin arched; lateral lobes small, triangular. Phallus curved at basal 2/5, distal 2/5 widened; cornuti being many fine spinules.
Female unknown.
Distribution. China (Guangxi, Yunnan).
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin basi- and nigra, referring to the black basal fascia in the forewing.
