Recognition characters: Blackish species; length 9.5–11.5 mm; third antennal segment black; mystax black with a few white bristles above; thorax brown and gray pollinose; scutellar setae black; abdomen shining black, gray pollinose fasciae not complete on any tergite; lateral setae on abdominal segments 1–4 black; legs with femora and tibiae black, tarsi reddish brown.

Distribution: BIG HORN: Big Horn Mtns., 24 July 1937 ( WNB, J. Wilcox records). TETON: Teton National For. near Togwotee Pass, 2,591 –2,743 m (8,500 –9,000 ft), 18 July 1966 ( HVW).

Habitat: Douglas fir forest vegetation type.

Ethology: Nothing known.
