Holotype female “ NAMIBIA, Roy’d Rest Camp, 58km NE Grootfontein. 1200m 19.229635S 18.496070E, 29– 30.XII.12 S. Murzin leg.”.
Length of body 8.1 mm, of fore wing 6.5 mm, and of antenna approximately 7 mm.
Description. Essentially as for S. maraisi as described by Braet (1999) and re-description (van Achterberg 2003) except for the characters given in the key above. The female holotype is slightly larger than the holotype of S. maraisai and the 2nd specimen recorded here, but since braconines (with some unrelated exceptions) are idiobiont ectoparasitoids, they typically show quite marked intraspecific size variation.
Etymology. The species is named as a lasting memorial to Rosalind Hardie, beloved wife of the junior author’s friend, Professor Jim Hardie.
