Fungal name no.:—FN570410
Etymology:—Named after the geographic area from where the type-specimen was collected.
Diagnosis:—The diagnostic features of T. haitangshanum are the non-viscid or non-hygrophanous pileus, changes of stipe surface colour to brown when handled, cruciate basidiospores measuring (6–)–7–8.5–(–9.5) × (6–)–6.5–8–(– 9.5) μm, and mostly ampullaceous cystidia.
Type:—Haitang Mountain, Fumeng town, Liaoning province, China (41°56′42″ N, 121°49′31″ E, alt 284 m), 6 Aug 2016, HMJAU33972 (Holotype). GenBank accession number (Holotype): KY509040 (ITS).
Description:—Pileus 10–12 cm diam., convex to nearly plane, fleshy, edge slightly involute when mature; surface non-viscid and non-hygrophanous, velvety or fibrillose-felted, yellowish ochre (5C7) and yellowish brown (5E8); Lamellae 5–8 mm wide, slightly ventricose, normally crowded to crowded, thickish, emarginated-adnexed, pale violet (17B4), gray (17B1) and satin white (2A1); Stipe 8–10 × 1.5–2 cm, subcylindrical, surface-pale violet (17A3) and ash grey (1B2), becoming light brown when injured, covered with lilaceous pruina becoming less pronounced at the base; context becoming loose and slightly hollow, odour mild. Basidiospores print white. Hymenophoral trama regular, inamyloid, not dextrinoid, hyphae cylindrical, up to 4 μm wide, clamp-connections absent. Cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia similar, 25–44 × 7.5–11 μm, mostly ampullaceous, with a swollen base and mucronate apex. Basidia 35.0–39.5 × 10–11 μm, clavate, 4- Basidiospores, clamp connections present at base. Basidiospores [n = 50] (6–)– 7–8.5–(–9.5) × (6–)–6.5–8–(–9.5) μm (av. 7.5 × 7 μm, Qm = 1.07), amygdaliform or somewhat short-ellipsoid with a broad abaxial on or near the median plane in profile view, cruciate in face view and often triangular in polar view, hyaline in KOH, thin-walled, inamyloid. Pileipellis consisting of a cutis of loosely interwoven, cylindric to clavate hyphae, 4 μm wide, clamp-connections absent.
Habitat and distribution:—Scattered on the ground in temperate deciduous broad-leaved forests ( Vitex negundo ) with sandy soil.
Additional specimens examined:— CHINA, Liaoning Province, Fumeng town, Haitang Mountain, (41°56′25″N, 121°50′14″E, alt 329 m), on the ground in broad-leaved forest with sandy soil, 6 Aug 2016, Jize Xu (HMJAU33973).
