REMARKS

All cited specimens have been referred here because of the completely flat operculum. However, the leaf shape is not always typical, often being more longly pointed as in E. pulchellus , and leaf serration and length of costa are variable. Therefore, it cannot fully ruled out that hybridizations are involved. Following own observations, Entosthodon convexus seems to be the most common member of Funariaceae on the Maltese Islands. It has been evaluated as “data deficient” by Hodgetts (2015).
