( Plate 8 View PLATE 8 , figure 6; male genit. plate 18, figure 4)

Material examined.

Holotype: male, Philippines, Mindanao, S Cotabato, Parker Mts, Salacafe , 770 m, light-trap, 2-12.iv.1985, leg. R. A. Müller, genit. prep. 3925 M. Fibiger. Coll. RMNH.

Diagnosis.

Wingspan: 13 mm.

Forewing: narrow, light brown, except dark brown basal and subterminal areas.

Transverse lines: brown; terminal line marked by black dots between veins.

Reniform: distinct, whitish grey, outlined by black.

Fringes: coloured like subterminal area.

Hindwing: unicolorous dark brown with an indistinct black discal spot.

Underside: unicolorous dark brown.

Male genitalia.

Tegumen: narrow.

Vinculum: short, stout.

Saccus: U-shaped, short.

Fultura superior: similar to a wide U with narrow arms, fused with upper middle of tegumen and ventrally broadly with juxta-anellus; each arm with a prominent, long, medially bent, laterally directed, pointed process.

Valve: shorter than wide.

Ampulla: almost symmetrical, relatively long and narrow, club-like; densely setose with long hair-like, inwardly bent setae.

Pollex : almost symmetrical, prominent, shorter than ampulla, slightly upturned, subapically broadest; subapically densely setose with long, hair-like, inwardly bent setae.

Digitus: almost symmetrical, long, very narrow, tapered, slightly curved, directed ventrally, apically pointed; right digitus slightly longer.

Juxta-anellus plate: large, higher than wide, hole for phallus positioned medially in plate.

Phallus: long, bent, slightly tapered towards apex; broadest by ductus ejaculatorius; coecum short and narrow. Vesica: unarmed.

Differential diagnosis.

P.taurus differs from other species by the almost symmetrical digitus, ampulla, and pollex, the long, medially bent process from each upperside of broad, U-shaped part of fultura superior, and the unarmed phallus, which is broadest by the ductus ejaculatorius.
