( Plate 9 View PLATE 9 , figure 6; male genit. plate19, figure 5)

Material examined.

Holotype: male, Philippines, Panay , Antiquo , Culasi, San Vicents, 11.iv.1995, leg. W. Mey, genit. prep. 3300 M. Fibiger. Coll. ZMHB.

Diagnosis.

Wingspan: 9 mm.

Forewing: narrow, grey brown, suffused with black scales.

Transverse lines: black; terminal line marked by black dots between veins.

Reniform: distinct, whitish grey, outlined by black.

Hindwing: unicolorous brown with an indistinct black discal spot.

Underside: unicolorous brown.

Male genitalia.

Tegumen: narrow.

Vinculum: short, stout.

Saccus: U-shaped, short.

Fultura superior: Y-shaped with broad arms, fused medially with tegumen and ventrally broadly fused with juxta-anellus plate; a short, broad, ventrally directed and club-like process arises from close to juxta-anellus plate.

Valve: shorter than wide.

Ampulla: indistinguishably fused with digitus, except for base, which by semicircular structure reveals that digitus is involved; left side (ampulla + digitus) long, greatly wrinkled, right side less wrinkled; both sides apically blunt; subapically densely setose with long, hair-like, inwardly bent setae.

Pollex : very broad at base, tapered to blunt apex; subapically densely setose with long, hair-like, inwardly bent setae.

Digitus: see under ampulla.

Juxta-anellus plate: higher than wide.

Phallus: long, bent near base and medially, slightly tapered from medial part towards apex; by middle, ventrally with a prominent raised ridge; coecum long, bent downwards, narrow.

Vesica: unarmed.

Differential diagnosis.

P. spastica differs from other species by the short club-like process from the fultura superior, the strongly asymmetrical and wrinkled ampulla-digitus, and a ventral raised ridge on the phallus.
