Material examined.
Holotype: female, [ Indonesia], Kangean Arch., 22.viii.1954, leg. A. Hoogerwerf, genit. prep. 3929 M. Fibiger, coll. RMNH.
Paratypes:
Diagnosis.
Wingspan: 12 mm.
Forewing: narrow, blackish brown, medial area lighter brown.
Transverse lines: brown, outlined in light brown; terminal line marked by black dots between veins. Reniform: distinct, whitish grey, outlined by black.
Hindwing: unicolorous grey brown with an indistinct black discal spot.
Underside: unicolorous grey brown.
Female genitalia.
9 th– 10 th segment: two small, teardrop-shaped pockets by base of ovipositor lobes probably serving as scentpockets.
7 th abdominal segment: heavily sclerotised.
Anterior apophyses: length 1½ of posterior apophyses.
Position of ostium bursae: anteriorly on 7 th segment, close to 6 th, slightly displaced to right.
Antrum: cone-like basally, posteriorly narrow, short, slightly curved, and heavily sclerotised.
Ductus bursae: membranous, long, 3 X longer than corpus bursae.
Corpus bursae: globular.
Appendix bursae: arising posteriorly from ductus bursae, immediately after antrum.
Differential diagnosis.
P. archi differs from other species by the basal cone-like antrum, and the short, slightly curved, cylindrical part anterior to it.
