( Plate 11 View PLATE 11 , figure 2; male genit. plate 20, figure 3, female genit. plate 26, figure 5)

Material examined.

Holotype: male, Indonesia, Seram W, Kamarlan , 128’38 E 3’20 S, 0–400 m, 16.i.–2.ii.1986, leg. A. Schintlmeister, genit. prep. 5643 M. Fibiger. Coll. MF, to be deposited in ZMUC.

Paratypes: 2 males, 4 females, with same data as holotype, female genit. preps. 5644, 5767 M. Fibiger. Colls. BMNH, MF .

Diagnosis.

Wingspan: 9–10 mm.

Forewing: narrow, brown, with black-brown costa in medial area.

Transverse lines: black; terminal line marked by black dots between veins.

Reniform: distinct, whitish grey, outlined by black.

Hindwing: unicolorous brown with an indistinct black discal spot.

Underside: unicolorous brown.

Male genitalia.

Tegumen: narrow.

Vinculum: short, stout.

Saccus: U-shaped, short.

Fultura superior: ventrally with a huge process, which forms a relatively long sharp crest, and fuses ventrally with lower part of tegumen and juxta-anellus plate

Valve: slightly longer than wide.

Ampulla: positioned medially on distal end of valve; very short, club-like; subapically densely setose with long hair-like setae bent inwards.

Pollex : broad-based, very short, triangular; subapically and outwards densely setose with long hair-like setae bent inwards.

Digitus: short, but still longer than ampulla and pollex, tapered, slightly curved ventrally, apically blunt.

Juxta-anellus plate: large, higher than wide.

Phallus: very long, mainly straight but curving through 180°near apex; slightly tapered towards apex; coecum long and narrow, slightly upturned.

Vesica: unarmed.

Female genitalia.

Membrane between 8 th– 9 th and 9 th– 10 th: with a small ovoid pouch, probably serving a pheromone function.

7 th abdominal segment: asymmetrical; heavily sclerotised, ventrally greatly narrowed by extension from 8 th segment, including ostium bursae.

Anterior apophyses: length 1½ of posterior apophyses.

Position of ostium bursae: anteriorly on 7 th segment near posterior margin of 6 th; 6 th and 7 th segments heavily fused; ostium slightly displaced to left.

Antrum: cylindrical, 3 X longer than wide, heavily sclerotised.

Ductus bursae: membranous, long, 2½ X longer than corpus bursae.

Corpus bursae: globular.

Appendix bursae: arising posteriorly from ductus bursae immediately after antrum.

Differential diagnosis.

P. jurivetei differs from other species by almost all genitalic features, but is still inside the ground-plan of species in the genus Pollex . The differences between P. jurivetei and the other species in subgenus Proma are described in the other species accounts.
