Type locality: Philippines, [Luzon], Los Banos.

Material examined.

Holotype: male, Philippines, [Luzon], Los Banos, leg. Baker, 1917-79, genit. prep. B.M. 17002 (M. Fibiger). Coll. BMNH.

Paratype: male with same data as holotype, genit. prep. 3718 M.Fibiger. Coll. BMNH .

Diagnosis.

Wingspan: 12–13 mm.

Forewing: narrow, blackish brown.

Transverse lines: black; terminal line marked by black dots between veins.

Reniform: distinct, whitish grey, outlined by black.

Hindwing: unicolorous brown with an indistinct black discal spot.

Underside: unicolorous brown.

Male genitalia.

Tegumen: narrow.

Vinculum: short, stout.

Saccus: U-shaped, short.

Fultura superior: T-shaped with long narrow arms, fused with upper middle part of tegumen and ventrally with juxta-anellus; where three arms meet, a finger-like, ventrally directed, apically blunt process arises. Valve: shorter than wide.

Ampulla: long, club-like, broadest subapically; densely setose with long hair-like setae bent inwards.

Pollex : relatively long, finger-like, broadest medially; outwardly densely setose with long, hair-like setae bent inwards.

Digitus: relatively long, narrow, tapered, curved, directed ventrally, apically pointed.

Juxta-anellus plate: huge, round, as wide as high.

Phallus: long, straight, narrow, slightly tapered towards apex; coecum long and narrow; a long, bent process, directed backwards and with blunt tip.

Differential diagnosis.

P. lobifera differs from the other species by the shorter digitus, which is half the length of the broad ampulla, and by the large, apically blunt spine at the apex of the phallus.
