Material examined.

Holotype: male, [ India], Sikkim, 2800 ft., -. vii.1895, leg. J. G. Pilcher, 97-31, genit. prep. 3090 M. Fibiger. Coll. BMNH.

Diagnosis.

Wingspan: 14 mm.

Transverse lines: brown, antemedial and postmedial line with a black spot on costa; subterminal line present but indistinct.

Terminal line: indicated by black dots between veins.

Reniform: indistinct, almost invisible.

Hindwing: blackish brown.

Underside: unicolorous brown.

Abdomen: brown; first segment with dorsal black crest; male with long blackish-brown anal tufts.

Male genitalia.

Saccus: short and rounded.

Vinculum: short.

Tegumen: much longer than vinculum.

Tergite and sternite: indistinct.

Sacculus: with heavily sclerotised club-like process on dorsal right side.

Ampulla: asymmetrical, club-like; apically smoothly rounded on right valve; with a short quadrangular process on left valve.

Pollex : short, rounded, with long hair-like setae.

Digitus: (right valve) long, narrow, bent, pointed apically; (left valve) short, stout, tapered, thorn-like.

Juxta: higher than wide.

Anellus: fused with juxta; left side dorsally membranous, forming a full circle around position of phallus. Fultura superior: membranous.

Phallus: broadest by ductus ejaculatorius, coiling clock-wise, V-shaped, slight tapering towards apex; coecum broad.

Differential diagnosis.

The male genitalia resemble those of T. odor but differ in having a club-like ampulla, the process on both sides, the saccular process, and the shape of the phallus.
