Material examined.
Holotype: male, Thailand N, 50 km NW Mae Hong Son, by Shan , 800 m, 14.vii.2003, leg. M. Fibiger. Coll. MF, to be deposited in ZMUC.
Paratypes: 5 males, 1 female: 3 males, same data as for holotype ; 2 males, 1 female, Thailand N, 30 km N Mae Hong Son, Karen village , 1100 m, 16.vii.2003, leg. M. Fibiger. Colls. BMNH, CNC, MF, ZMUC .
Diagnosis.
Wingspan: 14–16 mm.
Transverse lines: brown, suffused with black scales; antemedial and postmedial lines well marked, with a black spot on costa; subterminal line indistinct.
Reniform: indistinct, almost invisible.
Hindwing: brown.
Underside: unicolorous brown.
Abdomen: brown with black crest dorsally on first segment; male with long black and brown anal tufts.
Male genitalia.
Saccus: short, rounded.
Vinculum: short.
Tegumen: extremely long.
Tergite and sternite: indistinct.
Sacculus: with heavily sclerotised cone-like process dorsally on right side.
Ampulla: asymmetrical, club-like, apically smoothly rounded; on left side a short mushroom-like process. Pollex : short, rounded, with long hair-like setae.
Digitus: on right side, long, narrow, bent, pointed apically; short, stout, tapered, and thorn-like on left side. Juxta: higher than wide.
Anellus: fused with juxta, dorsally membranous on left side, forming almost a full circle around phallus. Fultura superior: membranous.
Phallus: broadest by ductus ejaculatorius, coiling clock-wise, S-shaped, slight tapering towards apex; coecum long and narrow.
Female genitalia.
Ovipositor: quadrangular.
Anterior apophyses: length equal to that of posterior apophyses.
8 th abdominal segment: very narrow, ventrally fused with 7 th segment.
7 th abdominal segment: heavily sclerotised, anteriorly with an irregular, triangular extension.
Antrum: short, tapered, heavily sclerotised.
Ductus bursae: membranous, long, coiling by antrum; ostium and ductus bursae 2 X as long as corpus bursae. Appendix bursae: arising postteriorly from ductus bursae immediately after antrum.
Corpus bursae: globular.
Differential diagnosis.
The female genitalia resemble those of T. fyani but differ in the shape of ostium and the irregular, triangular extension of the 7 th segment.
