( Plate 2 View PLATE 2 , figure 6; female abdomen plate 13, figure 4)
Material examined.
Holotype: [ Indonesia], Talaut Isl. , -. ii.-iii.1892, leg. W. Doherty, abdom. prep. 3717 M. Fibiger. Coll. BMNH.
Diagnosis.
Wingspan: 14 mm.
Transverse lines: brown, suffused with black scales; antemedial and postmedial lines indistinct, with a black spot by costa; subterminal line present, indistinct; terminal line indicated by black elongated spots between veins.
Reniform: black.
Hindwing: brown.
Underside: unicolorous brown.
Abdomen: brown.
Female genitalia.
Abdomen: mostly eaten but 6 th segment heavily sclerotised medially and outwardly (see plate 13, fig. 4). apodeme narrow, typical for Micronoctuidae .
Differential diagnosis.
Wings narrower than those of the other species, with a prominent invagination low on the hindwing. The position of T. talauti in this group is supported by the heavy sclerotisation of the anterior part of the 6 th abdominal segment, – see e.g., T. montana .
