TYPE SPECIES. — Spectrovenator ragei n. gen., n. sp.
DIAGNOSIS. — As for type and only species (type by monotypy).
ETYMOLOGY. — From the Latin spectrum (“ghost”) and venator (“hunter”). The generic name refers to the fact that the specimen was found unexpectedly underneath the holotype of Tapuiasaurus macedoi while the latter was being partially prepared in the field ( Zaher et al. 2011).
