Diagnostic information
(based on Blanchard 1917). Body length 2.6-3.0 mm. Piceous brown. Eyes with a small semicircular emargination. Head with longitudinal carinae separate and slightly diverging on the frons. Prosternal striae entire.
Bionomic notes.
The Canadian specimens were collected with Malaise traps, mostly in deciduous or mixed forests.
Comments.
The shallow semicircular emargination of the eyes separates this species from the other known North American species of Aulonothroscus ( Blanchard 1917).
