Type Locality: Brazil, Goiás, Veadeiros (Ávila Pires, 1968).
Vernacular Names: Red Three-striped Opossum.
Synonyms: Monodelphis goyana (Miranda-Ribeiro 1936) .
Distribution: Known from the Brazilian states of Goiás and Minas Gerais.
Discussion: Previously included under M. rubida ; see Pine (1976 a); reviewed by Lemos et al. (2000).
