Diagnosis
This species strongly resembles S. apicopubescens Cheng et al. 2010 in male terminalia, but can be distinguished from the latter by surstylus and colour patterns of abdominal tergites; surstylus with 1 prensiseta dorsally and 2 projections posteroventrally ( Figure 6 View Figure 6 (b), prs); abdominal 2nd to 6th tergites yellow medially, dark brown laterally, 2nd to 4th tergites lacking narrow caudal band ( Figure 4 View Figure 4 (d)). In S. apicopubescens : surstylus with 2 prensisetae dorsally and 2 projections posteroventrally (as in Cheng et al. 2010, fig. 6); abdominal 3rd to 5th tergites each with narrow caudal band ( Figure 3 View Figure 3 (a,b)).
Description
Male and female: Frons mostly brownish. Face yellow. Clypeus brown. Palpus yellow. Mesoscutum yellow medially, greyish yellow laterally. Scutellum greyish yellow. Pleura mostly with brown longitudinal stripe below base of wing and halter, yellow below. Abdominal 5th and 6th tergites each with narrow caudal band ( Figure 4 View Figure 4 (d)); all abdominal sternites yellow.
