Diagnosis

This species strongly resembles S. mediospinosa Cheng et al. 2010 in male terminalia and colour patterns of abdominal tergites, but can be distinguished from the latter by surstylus and gonopod; surstylus with 2 prensisetae submedially ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 (b)); dorsal process of gonopod slightly rounded in lateral view ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 (d)). In S. mediospinosa : surstylus with 1 prensiseta submedially (as in Cheng et al. 2010, fig. 2); dorsal process of gonopod acute in lateral view (as in Cheng et al. 2010, fig. 4).

Description

Male and female: Frons mostly brown. First flagellomere brown. Clypeus black. Palpus brownish. Mesoscutum yellow medially, greyish yellow laterally. Scutellum yellow basally, brownish distally. Pleura yellow below. Abdominal 2nd to 5th tergites yellow medially,

brownish to dark brown laterally, sometimes with caudal bands on 3rd to 5th tergites and protruded medially; 6th tergites yellow anteriorly, black posteriorly ( Figure 4 View Figure 4 (f – h)).
