Discussion: McKenna and Bell (1997) assigned all extant suids to the subfamily Suinae . Babirussina Gray, 1868 is based on Babirussa Frisch, 1775 which is unavailable. Includes as Tribes Babyrousini (including Babyrousa ), Phacochoerini (including Phacochoerus ), Potamochoerini (including Hylochoerus and Potamochoerus ), and Suini (including Sus ).
