Diagnosis. The species is separated from the other Oriental species by the surface of the head densely, sparsely, very superficially punctate.
Distribution. Buthan, India, Nepal, China, Union of Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Remarks. The species was erroneously identified as D. setosus by Boheman (1858), but later Harold (1868) identified it as D. sinicus . The species was included in Tibiodrepanus by Krikken (2009). Some localities could not be precisely georeferenced, thus they are not listed above [e.g., two specimens from northern China, Meyen (ZMHB), and one specimen from India (USNM)].
