Drepanocerus dispar . Boheman 1857:324. Sulcodrepanus sulcicollis . Krikken 2009:21.

Remarks. The species was described by Laporte (1840) and included in the genus Oniticellus , but soon afterwards was transferred to Drepanocerus by Harold (1869). Drepanocerus dispar was described by Boheman (1857) from Eastern Cape province, South Africa and then synonymized with D. sulcicollis by Harold (1869). The species was included in Sulcodrepanus by Krikken (2009). We excluded specimens with a label that was considered too generic, such as specimens labeled “Sammers Jan 7.i.1884 ” (SANC), or “ South Africa, Great Karoo” (OUMNH), or “Caffraria” (ZMUC). Furthermore, we are sure that the data from Vaseli, Bulgaria (15 specimens, NHMB) are erroneous.
