2. Rubus idaeus Linnaeus (1753: 492) . Lectotype (designated by Chater & al. in Edees & Newton: 1988):— Mountains in Europe , s.l., s.d., s.c. ( LINN 653.1 ). ( Fig. 2 C, D )

= R. vulgatus Arrhenius (1839: 12) = R. buschii (Rosanova) Grossheim (1949: 76) .

Distribution in Armenia: Upper Akhuryan, Aragats, Lori, Ijevan, Aparan, Sevan floristic regions. In broad-leaved forests, forest edges, meadows, shrubberies, at an altitude of 1500–2400 m above sea level. Cultivated almost everywhere, mainly in the northern regions of the country and in the Lake Sevan basin.

Phenology: Flowering May–July; fruiting August–September.

For the Aparan floristic region, the occurrence of R. idaeus is reported for the first time.

General distribution: in Caucasus (almost everywhere), Eurasia from West Europe to East Siberia and Central Asia mountain ranges, North America.
