Pap[ilio] Dan[aus] Cand[idus] palaeno Stoll, 1781: 96 , 251, pl.340, figs A, B [original plate 312, figs A, A] (junior homonym of Papilio palaeno Linnaeus, 1761 [ Pieridae ]). Cape of Good Hope [= South Africa.] (Stoll). [Misidentification.]

Material examined. No potential Stoll specimens located.

Current status. Invalid junior subjective synonym of Colias e. electo (Linnaeus, 1763) ( Ackery et al., 1995).
