NOTES: Lister (1887: 126) commented that the material “was sent to me by Mr. Henry Munro, of the Gardens,
Clevelands, Lyme Regis, on Dec. 4, 1886. He found it in mature conditions, on twigs of larch, lying on the ground,
and on the surrounding herbage.”. In BM there are two boxes, BM 288, that we designate here as the lectotype since it is in good condition and the label data coincide with the publication data, and BM 1491, labelled “Type specimen”,
from the same place and date with a duplicate fragment of BM 288 which we consider to be an isolectotype. There is a slide mount L:B.M.151 that has a fragment also probably from the lectotype and 3 other slides, that we consider to be syntypes as they are from the same locality and collector but different dates. In the first edition of the monograph,
Lister (1894), proposed the new combination Hemitrichia chrysospora (Lister) Lister , and this remains currently since the generic name Hemitrichia has been accepted as a nomina conservanda ( Lado et al. 2005, Gams 2005).
