Genus Proaposolenidia Mironov & Proctor, 2007

Type species: Proaposolenidia accipitris Mironov & Proctor, 2007 , by original designation.

So far, only two species of Proaposolenidia have been described ( Mironov et al. 2007), both from birds of the family Accipitridae : P. accipitris Mironov & Proctor, 2007 from Accipiter cooperii (Bonaparte, 1828) , and P. elanoides Mironov & Proctor, 2007 from Elanoides forficatus (Linnaeus, 1758) . Two new species are described below, and one more species is transferred from the genus Hieracolichus (see below discussion on Hieracolichus ); thus, the genus Proaposolenidia currently includes five species.
