Diagnosis. Forewing length is 18–19 mm in males (19 mm in the holotype) and 20 mm in females. The new species ( Figs 1, 2 View FIGURES 1–8 ) is very similar externally to the closely related G. nanlingica , but can be distinguished from the both subspecies ( Figs 3–5 View FIGURES 1–8 ) by its slightly more robust head and thorax, slightly more elongated forewing. In addition, the new species differs from the nominate subspecies of G. nanlingica ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1–8 ) by the absence of dark grey suffusion along the R vein subbasally, and from G. n. dytiko ssp. n. ( Figs 3, 4 View FIGURES 1–8 ) by its longitudinal shade of forewing being slightly broadened medially (that is not broadened in G. n. dytiko ssp. n.). The male genitalia of G. dammay sp. n. ( Figs 20, 21 View FIGURES 20–23 ) differ from those of G. nanlingica ( Figs 17–19 View FIGURES 17–19 ) by the conspicuously more broadened valva, conspicuously narrower aedeagus, shorter and narrower vesica with shorter and narrower subbasal cluster consisting of smaller spinules, and shorter distal cluster of spines. The female genitalia of the new species ( Fig. 33 View FIGURES 32–36 ) are very similar to those of G. n. dytiko ssp. n. ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 32–36 ), but the ostium bursae and antrum are broader, and the non-spinulose lateral area of corpus bursae is broader.
Distribution. North Vietnam, Lào Cai Province.
Etymology. In Vietnamese, ‘đám mây’ means ‘a cloud’. The specific epithet refers to the cloud forest habitats of the Mount Fan-si-pan where the new species was collected.
