Localities: Gutiérrez Lake, Rio Negro Province (type locality); Glacial lakes of Andean Patagonia; Moreno and Nahuel Huapi Lakes, Rio Negro Province; Epuyén and Cholila Lakes, Chubut Province.

Site of infection: Posterior part of intestine.
