The type locality of this frog is Koya Golahut, Saidpur, Nilphamari, Bangladesh. Recently, Khatiwada et al. (2017) recorded it from central and eastern Nepal and proposed the Chitwan population to be M. nilphamarariensis based on molecular and call records. We believe the Parsa population to be M. nilphamariensis ( Fig. 7 View Fig ). However, only detailed molecular study will resolve its taxonomy.
