Distribution in mainland China: New record for mainland China, YN, Xishuangbanna, 37km NW Jinghong, vic. Guo Men Shan, 22°14.48’N 100°36.22’E, 1080m, forest, 6.iv.2009. EKL. L.Z. Meng (1) (LLY).
Other distribution. India, Burma, Thailand and introduced to USA ( Beaver et al. 2011).
Biology. The species of Octodesmus are wood-boring pests of bamboos, timber and their products ( Beaver et al. 2011).
