Distribution in mainland China: Unspecified locality in mainland China (Borowski 2007).
Other distributio n. Cosmopolitan ( Borowski & Węgrzynowicz 2007).
Biology. Like many species of Dinoderus , the species is also a borer of bamboo, and also breeds in timber, and in the stems and leaf midribs of palms used for baskets and cases, in the stored roots of cassava ( Manihot esculenta Crantz ( Euphorbiaceae )) and similar root crops, and has also been found in flour ( Beeson & Bhatia 1937; Delobel & Tran 1993). Hau (2002) recorded the species was found from dry roots of Derris sp. (Fabaceae) in Hong Kong.
