Distribution in mainland China: HN ( Chen 2011). New record for GX #, Guilin, Yàn mountain. 13.iv.1953 [no collector] (1♂)(IOZ).

Other distribution. India, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia (Sulawesi) ( Beaver et al. 2011).

Biology. The biology of most Phonapate species is poorly known. The only recorded host is Calycopteris floribunda (Roxb.) Lam. ( Beeson & Bhatia 1937) .
