Taxonomy. First record from Lebanon as Parablennius pilicornis View in CoL by Aguillar et al. (2018: 82).

Distribution. Southwestern Mediterranean Sea, eastern Atlantic: southern Bay of Biscay to South Africa; western Indian Ocean ( South Africa, Iran); southwestern Atlantic: Brazil south to Argentina .

Conservation. IUCN: Global ( LC: 27 March 2009); Med. ( LC: 14 November 2007). Capture and threats: HAB, Unknown. Occurrence: Very rare. Low priority for conservation action .
