Specimens examined: Site 94­1, 1 female; Site 94­13, 2 females; Site 94­31, 3 females.

Hypoaspis quinquelongisetis was described from soil at Potchefstroom ( Ryke, 1963) and has apparently not been collected again until now. This is a very small weakly sclerotised species, but is presumed to be predatory, by analogy with other species of Hypoaspis .
