Type material.
The lectotype (ZMB No. 101518) and six paralectotypes (No. 101519) in ZMB collection. The lectotype was designated by Kilias (1961), its shell height is 23.4 mm.
Type locality.
Uganda, Mengo, in an artificial pond leg. Stuhlmann (05.01.1891) - locality of the lectotype. von Martens (1897b) mentioned more locations of this species in Uganda and other regions of East Africa.
