Type Locality: Uganda, near Kampala, Kyetume.
Vernacular Names: Armored Shrew.
Synonyms: Scutisorex congicus Thomas 1915 .
Distribution: Tropical rainforest of the Dem. Rep. Congo Basin and adjacent mountains in Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Includes congicus ; see Heim de Balsac and Meester (1977:7).
