Description. Male. Head: little wider than pronotum, vertex not flattened, with a few strong long setae, frontal rostrum almost as wide as antennal scape, apical segment of maxillary palpi truncated ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ). Pronotum: pubescent, anterior margin almost straight while posterior margin little convex, legs pubescent ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ), tympanum absent, hind tibia with three pairs of dorsal spurs and three pairs of apical spurs (outer ones small with the middle one longest, dorsal and middle inner ones long). Tegmen coriaceous, almost extending to apex of abdomen. Genitalia: ectophallic apodeme slender and shaped into acute angle, ramus straight, pseudepiphallus separated into two lateral parts joined by a straight wide but feebly sclerotized bridge, posterior apex of pseudepiphallus forming flattened lophi with serrated inner margins, pseudepiphallic parameres triangular, nearly 2/3 of epiphallus apical lobes but wider and smoother than pseudepiphallus ( Fig. 2D, E View FIGURE 2 ).
Female. Similar to male ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ), ovipositor little curved ( Fig. 2F View FIGURE 2 ), finely denticulate on dorsal side (1/2 of total length) and ventral side (1/5 of total length).
Coloration. Overall light yellow and black. Brownish red in head and anterior part of pronotum. Cerci yellow and ovipositor dark brown in ventral side.
Measurement (mm). Male: SZ 4.60–5.16, PR 0.96–1.07, HF 4.55–4.61; Female: SZ 4.62–5.07, PR 0.82– 1.02, HF 4.09–4.31, OV 1.83–1.98.
Distribution. China (Hainan).
Etymology. The specific epithet xuandan is for the Chinese phonetic alphabet 玄丹, which is for black and red color, respectively.
