Type species. Tenuisternum bahiense Fiaboe, Moraes & Gondim Jr., 2004: 1 View in CoL .

Main distinguishing characteristics. Whitish. Dorsal shield ornamented mostly with areolate to polygonal elements. Idiosomal setal pattern 10A:9B/JV-3:ZV; setae of about uniform length, except Z4 and Z5, slightly longer, but not whip-shaped; ratio s4 / Z1 <2.7. Sternal shield lightly sclerotised, so that the posterior margin is inconspicuous. Ventrianal shield vase-shaped, reduced and thus with only one pair of pre-anal setae (Jv2). Peritreme not reaching level of j3. Spermathecal calyx tubular. Fixed and movable cheliceral digits with ten and three teeth, respectively. Leg macrosetae absent. Male ventrianal shield with six pairs of pre-anal setae; spermadactyl penile.

Remarks. This monospecific genus was described from Brazil. It is known only from the type specimens, reported from plants.
