Dorsal shield of female mostly reticulate, except for a smooth area next to Z4, 356 (340–382) long and 182 (157–192) wide. Setal lengths: j1 21 (17–25), j3 46 (42–50), j4 34 (27–45), j5 35 (28–40), j6 55 (47–60), J2 61 (57–80), J5 12 (10–15), z2 40 (30–45), z4 52 (45–65), z5 30 (22–40), Z1 63 (55–70), Z4 66 (52–75), Z5 87 (80–92), s4 61 (47–65), S2 69 (60–80), S4 47 (47–50), S5 42 (40–50), r3 31 (25–32) and R1 35 (22–40). Peritreme extending forward almost to level of j1. Distances between st1–st3 58 (42–62), st2–st2 63 (57–65), st5–st5 64 (60–70). Ventrianal shield 129 (115–132) long, 104 (87–112) wide at level of Zv2 and 96 (87–105) wide at anus level. Spermathecal calyx cup- to bell-shaped 11 (10–15) long; atrium nodular. Fixed cheliceral digit 23 (22–25) long, with 5–6 teeth; movable digit 26 (25–27) long, with three teeth. Macrosetae only on leg IV, sharp-tipped; SgeIV 22 (20–22), StiIV 31 (27–32) and StIV 56 (45–60) .
Distribution in Brazil. Paraná ( Barbosa et al., 2021; Araujo et al., 2022a), Rio Grande do Sul ( Furtado et al., 2006; Ferla et al., 2011; Diehl et al., 2012; Gonçalves et al., 2013; Johann et al., 2014), Santa Catarina ( Barbosa et al., 2021) and São Paulo ( Flechtmann, 1967a, b, d; Denmark & Muma, 1973).
Distribution elsewhere. Algeria, Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Germany, Guatemala, India, Jamaica, New Zealand, Poland, Reunion Island, South Korea, Syria, USA and Venezuela.
Remarks. Measurements of specimens examined are similar to those of the redescription by Tsolakis & Ragusa (2016). Specimens reported by Cruz et al. (2012) were reidentified as Neoseiulus pluridentatus Lofego & Moraes by Cruz et al. (2014). Species most similar to Neoseiulus idaeus Denmark & Muma, but reported in Brazil only from S„o Paulo State and further south.
